Latest Church Director Updates

During the rollout to the new hosting service, we updated Church Director with some new features:

  • Self-assignments are automatically set to ‘confirmed’ status and no email is sent regarding the assignment
  • Assignment reminders for cancelled events or inactive planners are no longer sent
  • Setting the From Address and Subject line, along with adding an additional message, is now available during the send notifications step. There is a button to optionally preview the list of email recipients, as was the default behavior previously
  • The name of the team member that made the assignment is shown on the “My Assignments” screen, to aid in knowing who to contact.

As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions or feedback regarding these changes.

Hi great software, is it available for hosting on my servers?

    Paul,

    Thanks for the great question!

At this time, Church Director is offered using the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, meaning that we manage everything for you.

Having managed a number of IT/technology ministry teams for Calvary Austin in the past, I found that the more that is installed on an internal church network, the more cumbersome the workload for staff and volunteers to manage and maintain it. Church Director is all managed and maintained by us, so that you can concentrate on scheduling volunteers rather than installing upgrades and managing databases.

In addition, any of your volunteers can reach Church Director from anywhere in the world, without the risk of jeopardizing your private network and data by requiring you to install it on your local network and opening it to the world for external volunteer access. This was a huge concern for us at Calvary Austin.

Finally, since Church Director is available from anywhere with an Internet connection, multi-site churches can take advantage of this without requiring multiple installations across their campuses. Several multi-site campuses have used Church Director with a laptop and a broadband wireless connection in the U.S.

Well, thank you for your reply , i understand what you are saying.

I run a server nest in the UK which is available for Calvary Chapels in this country and wondered if a uk based mirror would be of use to the local churches here.

    Thank you anyway

    regards

    Paul
